GTA ORGANISES BLOOD DONATION EXERCISE AS PART OF ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY

he Ghana Tourism Authority has organized a Blood Donation Exercise as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, at the forecourt of its Head Office at Ridge in Accra on Friday, 11th August, 2023 at 9:00 am.

The Exercise is part of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility to stock the National Blood Bank to save lives and also encourage a healthy lifestyle. It is also in partnership with the GFA foundation, the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Keystone Medical Services and Cocoa Processing Company.

The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, the Deputy CEO in charge of General Services, Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah, the Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Mr. Ekow Sampson, staff of the Ghana Tourism Authority, National Road Safety Authority, National Commission on Culture, the Ghana Football Association, and students from the University of Media, Arts and Communications, under the supervision of health officials donated to stock the blood bank.

At the end of the exercise, 52 pints of blood were donated to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to help save lives.

A medical doctor from Keystone Medical Services, Dr. Benjamin Mensah in his address advised the public to voluntarily donate blood to assist in emergency cases and also to stock the blood bank. Dr. Emmanuel Adepa, also a medical officer from the Ridge Regional Hospital, urged all stakeholders to leverage on donating blood willingly to save lives.
