Accra, Ghana – In celebration of its momentous 50th anniversary, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is delighted to announce an Honorary Tourism Awards takinng place on Wednesday, 29th November 2023 at the prestigious Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). The event promises an evening of recognition and appreciation for industry practitioners and stakeholders.
Themed “Celebrating 50 Years of Ghana’s Tourism Excellence,” the GTA @ 50 Awards will be a remarkable showcase of Ghana’s flourishing tourism sector. The National Tourism Awards have over the years, endeavored to acknowledge and honour individuals and entities who have made significant contributions to the development of the tourism industry in Ghana.
The GTA @ 50 Awards and Dinner aims to award those who are setting the bar high in their individual and corporate capacity . The awards will encompass various categories, including Tourism Investments, Tour guiding, tour operation and academia. A total of 25 deserving tourism establishments and personalities will be recognized during this momentous occasion.
The special guest of honor for the awards ceremony is Neenyi Ghartey VII, the Paramount Chief of the Effutu Traditional Area. Joining him will be a distinguished roster of approximately 350 guests, including seasoned practitioners, industry players, and representatives from Hotels, Travel and Tour Agencies, Tour Operators, Car Rentals, and the Media.
Adding to the grandeur of the event, the occasion will be graced by the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Awal and other Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, the Diplomatic Community, Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and the Business Community.
