In the early hours of August 4, 2025, a fire broke out at the Accra Information Tourist Centre (ATIC), prompting an immediate response from the Ghana National Fire Service. The incident occurred around 12:30 AM and was swiftly brought under control, according to a statement released by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. However, several departments sustained significant damage. Among the affected offices are the International Affairs Department, the Call Center of the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Tour Operators Association of Ghana, and the National Film Authority.
While the loss of property is regrettable, the swift action by emergency responders helped prevent what could have been a much more tragic event.
