ACCRA LEISURE AND RECREATIONAL PARK (GEESE PARK) COMMISSIONED

The Ghana Tourism Authority, in collaboration with the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly and under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has proudly commissioned the Accra Leisure and Recreational Park (Geese Park) on Monday, January 6, 2025.


The ceremony took place at the park’s location adjacent to Asomdwee Park, near Osu Castle. This milestone marks a significant enhancement to Ghana’s tourism infrastructure, promoting recreation, leisure, and community engagement.

Key Features of the Park

  • Security Post : Ensuring the safety and security of visitors
  • Culinary Delights : A Snack Bar and Restaurant offering a range of local and international cuisine
  • Family: Friendly Attractions : A Mini Zoo Children’s Playground and Scenic Fish Pond providing entertainment for all ages
  • Event Hosting : A state-of-the-art Event Centre suitable for conferences, weddings, and other celebrations
  • Amenities : Clean and well-maintained Washrooms for visitors’ convenience.

The commissioning ceremony was performed by Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, assisted by esteemed dignitaries including Hon. Seth Adjei Baah, Board Chairman of GTA, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of GTA, and Hon. Samuel Adjei Tawiah, MCE of Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly.

This development is part of GTA’s efforts to promote tourism and community engagement in Ghana, as highlighted in their mission to regulate, develop, and promote tourism facilities and services. The Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly has also been instrumental in this project, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing the local community and promoting tourism in the area.
