The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is set to organise the Regional Tourism Awards, to reward excellence in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The Award Ceremonies are expected to commence from Friday, September 13 to Saturday, September 28, 2024, and it is under the theme, “CELEBRATING INNOVATION AND RECOGNISING EXCELLENCE IN GHANA’S TOURISM SECTOR’’. The Regional Tourism Awards aims to celebrate and recognise individuals and organisations for demonstrating excellence and to encourage stronger rebound of tourism in Ghana. Among the categories to be awarded are accommodation enterprises, food beverage and entertainment enterprises, travel trade enterprises, media, events and corporate organisations of the year.
The Eastern, Savanna and Bono Region will kick-start the awards on 13th September, 2024. The awards for the North East and Ahafo Region are on the 14th and 19th September respectively. Awards for the Ashanti, Volta, Central, Bono East, Oti, Upper East, Tema and Western Region will also be on the 20th September, 2024. Western North and Upper West Region will have their awards on 27th September 2024. Northern and Greater Accra Region will climax the ceremony on 28th September, 2024.
The National Tourism Awards was instituted by the Ghana Tourism Authority in 1997 to reward excellent performance in the tourism sector. It is also to raise standards and encourage healthy competition among industry players.
