Strengthening the bonds of cultural collaboration, a delegation from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and members of the FESTAC Committee visited the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at his palace in Accra on 13th August 2025.
The visit was marked by a donation in support of the upcoming Homowo Festival and a formal cultural request for the King’s blessing for the upcoming FESTAC celebrations.
Representing GTA’s CEO, Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah, Deputy CEO (General Services), highlighted the uniqueness of Ghana’s tourism, enriched by the vitality of the chieftaincy system, underscoring the visit’s significance.
Mr. Yinka Abiole, Chairman of FESTAC Africa, presented FESTAC’s mandate, seeking the Ga Mantse’s permission to host the celebrations on Ga land and inviting him to serve as patron for the celebrations. The King warmly received the delegation, granting both requests and expressing appreciation for the gesture and the shared vision of promoting African heritage and unity.
