In a heartwarming gesture marking Chocolate Week, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, presented an array of Ghanaian chocolates and cocoa-based products to newly appointed ministers on February 14, 2025. This initiative is part of a broader effort to celebrate Ghana’s rich cocoa heritage and the need to get all stakeholders on board.

The presentation was made by Authority’s marketing department, representing the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto. This was part of activities lines-up for the National Chocolate Week Celebrations, carried out under the theme: “Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy, Grow Ghana” and the sub-theme “Chocolate for All: Taste, Share, and Care.”
The outreach extended to several key ministries, including Communication, Environment, Finance, Health, Lands and Natural Resources, Local Government, Agriculture, Gender, Children, and Social Protection, as well as Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts. These visits aimed to foster a sense of unity and shared purpose, reflecting the integral role of cocoa in the nation’s economy and culture.

During the occassion, the newly appointed ministers were presented with premium Ghanaian chocolates. This act was not only a celebration of the country’s cocoa industry but also a strategic effort to raise awareness about the numerous health benefits associated with chocolate consumption. By promoting cocoa products, the GTA also highlighted the importance of supporting local industries and driving national growth.
